INTRODUCTION

our drama stimulus wasn’t really about refugees but it was about a old man who had alzheimer disease and he couldn’t remember his home life. Basing around the question “can love be love be forgot” This links to how the refugees missed there home and they regret when they leave. Men now struggle to express their feelings because it isn’t seen to be manly The old man also struggled to show his emotions because he believes he isn’t able to do anything. The old man showed he that he couldn’t express himself by not really talking or giving simple answers. He never spoke but you could tell he was finding it hard to sit there normally with his family because of the plain look on his face.

Aylan Kurdi was a young boy who had to leave his country because of a war that was putting him and his family in danger so he had to go on a boat. On the 2nd of September Aylan and his family hoped on a plastic or rubber early hours in the morning. Him and his family left turkey to start a new life in Canada but he was found dead washed up on a beach a few days later. During his journey he was thinking about home missing his friends and home. Him and his family leaving made his and his fathers relationship break.

ITEM 1

Our stimulus was a father living in a care home struggling to remember things due the Alzheimer’s disease. He has a son and a grandson. I played the son and I had a son who my father could hardly remember his grandson. I took myself to see my father and reminded him about a few things like the death of his wife and to tell him I was bring his grandson up. I showed no emotion in my face when me and my son turned up to the home to not scare my son but it hurt.

I could of the played this character with many different emotions. I chose to play my character the way i did because it was realistic. If i was  to have a breakdown in front of my child it wouldnt be real or the scene would look fake because this is showing to be strong in front of your kids. Not having a bed in the scene or it looking like a care home was hard but the way the characters carried themselves and the way the stage was set out with two boxes representing a bed you could see the improvisation.

ITEM 2

My second idea is a monologue based on the first item i did. the first item was based on a son and his grandson seeing their father/grandfather die in hospital. my second idea was based around the deaf of the father. the deaf of the father was the reason why the son was homeless. he was homeless because after the father died he sold the house he was living in which made him sleep on the streets. another idea i thought of was to do a duologue with someone from my group from item one and that was a scene straight after the deaf.

the characters that appeared was the son of the dead dad in the last item who is still feeling the effect of the passing of his dad. when hes father died he was 32 with a 7 year old son. at 33 he was living in the cold streets of london. he was a man who kept himself clean and had some respect for himself. a year changed alot of things. from wearing the nicest designer cloths to wearing the same with everyday due to the passing.
